Thursday, December 5
Turning on the Lights Opening: 7 pm
North East Point Gazebo. Lights on the gazebo and the lobster pot Christmas tree will be turned on!
LED Christmas Lights Exchange: 7:15 pm. North East Point Gazebo. Bring 2 sets of your old incandescent holiday lights and you will receive one LED holiday light strings for free. The light exchange is brought to you by Efficiency NS.
Fireworks Display: 7:30 pm. North East Point Beach area. Inclement weather date – Sun., Dec. 8 – same time.
Friday, December 6
Gingerbread House Contest:
Categories:
Teen (13 to 18 yrs.); adult (19 to 64 yrs); young at heart ( 65 yrs. +). Pre-made kits will be provided for $7. The entire display, must be edible (except base).
Completed houses must be brought to the Library on Friday, Dec. 6, during their open hours. Judging will take place Saturday, December 7.

Barrington Library Christmas Program:
6 pm. The Proclaiming Puppeteers will perform and sing Christmas songs for all. Refreshments available.
Saturday, December 7
ERMES Craft Market : 10 am to 2 pm. Proceeds to the ERMES Support Group. For more info., call Shelley 637-3261
Barrington Chamber of Commerce Annual Christmas Parade: 7 pm
Parade starts at the former BMHS and ends at Causeway Interiors. Sponsored by Marquee Insurance and Area Chamber of Commerce. To register, call Bobbi Jo @ 745-1655 or pick up a form at Wilson’s Shopping Centre.
Sunday, December 8
Santa’s Visit & Christmas Crafts: 1-3 pm
Visit Santa at the Island and Barrington Passage Fire Hall. While waiting, keep busy by making crafts. Cookies, milk, juice will be available.
Christmas House Tour: 1pm to 4pm
Organized by the Chamber of Commerce.

Kitchen Party: 7 pm. Wood’s Harbour Community Centre. All welcome! $5 admission. Refreshments available.
Thursday, December 12
Barrington Library Scrapbooking Program: 3 pm. For ages 8-11. Make a Christmas card for someone special. Register by December 11.
Senior Christmas Tea: 12 noon to 2 pm
MUST PRE-REGISTER TO RESERVE A SEAT. Call Senior Services at 1-800-565-0397. Transportation available. Entertainment by Rachel MacLean & other local talent.
The tea will be held at the Lions Hall.
Saturday, December 14
Build Your Own Gingerbread House:
For ages 5 to 12. Must pre-register with the Recreation Department, 637-2903 by Thurs., December 13. $7 fee. Program will be held in the Library Program Room at 10 am.
Seal Island Light Museum & Old Meeting House Christmas Program:
7 pm. Lighting of the lens, Christmas Carol Concert to follow at the Old Meeting House. Dress warmly, bring a flashlight
